Illio Friday - "Detach"

i couldn't find an interesting original color solution for this one, so i just copped out and copied Nathan Fox's 3-D effect....kinda cool...

three more!

ok, I'll stop posting these here for a while. I'm just so pumped about them! Anyway, I'll probably keep putting more up on my personal art blog: http://jsheaisaninja.blogspot.com if you wanna see more as I finish them.

Modern Guilt

I finished this funny little cartoon yesterday, so here it is. Narrative storytelling is something i always fall back on, i enjoy it immensely. i might hand-color it (instead of digital) and post that, i have a hard time getting lighting to look good in photoshop.

apt. c3

So I finally got my copy of photoshop onto my new computer and my tablet hooked up, so I'm finally getting back into my comic strips. I'm going back and redoing the earlier ones in a new strip format, instead of the square format I had been working in. I'm liking it a lot more.
Just gotta keep cranking them out now!

@ the movies

here's what i've been working on the last couple days, The Joker and Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men. I like them 'cause they're loose and colorful, while retaining my line work. This way of working is more liken to how i was working in school, and i could see this in a magazine (i think). What do you think?

CHUM, yum

Funny to think that my thesis work would be going this far. I have currently sold 50 copies of CHUM since graduation and am still drawing up new strips (I think the count is in the seventies now).
Ironically, since I work at a place very similar to that of the strip for forty or fifty hours a week, I doubt that I will be running out of material anytime soon, well, here's hoping...
